- The Vermont Natural Resources Board is responsible for many aspects of Vermont's environmental laws; it administers Act 250, Vermont's landmark land use and development law. It makes water resource management policy in the areas of water quality standards, wetlands, the use of public waters and the manipulation of the surface level of lakes and ponds.
The Board is comprised of 9 citizens of Vermont, appointed by the Governor, who work on behalf of Vermonters to help guide development and preserve the quality of Vermont’s natural resources.
